Out in the yard, I’ve got my post-hole digger ready, and I’m going in deep: 24 inches, to be exact, so this pole won’t shift once that cement sets. I drop my 4×4 in, check it’s plumb with my level, and pour that concrete. Let it cure properly.
Next, I run two strands of cafe lights from my mounting poles back toward the house, keeping it under the max linkable length to prevent overloading the circuit. I grab a wire rope hanging kit for the saggy spots, since unsupported cable sags under its own weight. I attach fixtures tight, double-check every connection’s weather-resistant, and step back. The setup will look professional and function reliably when powered up.
